Near my friend’s place there is a very, very old chuirch: Urnes Stave Church. It was built in 1130. It is on the UNESCO list of world heritage. So I brought my friends there.
We left the car at Solvang (left) and bordered the little ferry to cross the Sognefiord. The walk up to the church in the tiny little village of Ornes (right) took about 20 minutes.
The famous wall outside.
Several stave churches have been preserved. None of them are replica. Some are only museums, some are used as churches today. But only Urnes Stave Church has become world heritage. That is due to the special wall, I have heard.
Ornes is also known for its fruit.
Apples and strawberries.
For lunch we bought among others deer hamburger. 鹿のハムバーガー
We also tried some rasberry and elderberry juice. その村で出来たジュース
